Join Pedro Espi-Sanchis, one of South Africa’s famous storytellers and renowned international music educator on one of Cape Town’s famous beaches to discover the wellsprings of music with four iconic musical instruments made out of dry kelp.
Our early ancestors lived on the beaches of Southern Africa where they found an abundance of shellfish, sea weed and kelp which they used as food and to make musical instruments.
This extraordinary experience will take you along with a maximum of twelve people to make and play four great instruments, the Lekolilo flute, the pipe ensemble, the shaker and the horn ensemble. You are welcome to take the instruments home of course...
